It has been such a long time since I have had the chance to sit down and write! So sorry to those of you who are checking in on me and reminding me that I have been slacking! I thought it would be fitting to kick off my new found blog energy by posting a few of 6mo old "C". I just think she looks like a little princess in what I lovingly call the "princess chair". Almost every girl who comes to the studio chooses this one as their favorite. Even the little ones!

These images are of "some" of my nieces and nephews. I lovingly call them the "farm kids". These photographs were taken a while back on a very windy day at the farm. I love to see their personalities truly shine through!

Look at these two. How adorable is this moment! This little guy adores his big brother and had to do everything that he did and when I asked his brother to sit on the bridge, well I got a two for one. No complaints here, this is one of my favorite images from this session.

Sometimes a hug from your big brother is all you need to make you smile. I adore the expressions on these children's faces as "C" hugs his little sister. I can't help but smile along with them!

Shhhh.... It's a surprise for dad! Just a little peek at his up and coming competition.

Playing and having fun are a big part of my time with the families that I photograph. But sometimes in the midst of all of the excitement, there is a quiet moment. A little moment of peace that I can capture when the most simple of things are really so lovely.

... and then we just go back to having oodles of FUN!!!

Most days I have the hardest time trying to figure out what to write when I post these images on my blog. I want to give you a taste of what I am thinking or tell you about how much I enjoyed playing with these children, getting to know a unique high school senior or how I had to do tricks to get someone to smile "for real". Today, I want to share a great complement that was given to me by the lovely mother in these images.

I have photographed this family several times in the last couple of years and each time we see one another, we have even more fun than we did the last time we were together. After our session, we were catching up and she admitted that she spent the whole week looking forward to our morning together because she knew how much fun it would be! I thought about how much this means to me as a mom, a wife and especially a photographer. The fact that in her busy life, she sees a portrait session as a relaxing and fun time to spend with her family really is an enormous complement. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to hear such kind words and it truly makes me appreciate what I do and that I can share it with you.

I just love the big brother smile on this little guys face! Those big brown eyes just make me melt!

What a great way to spend a Friday evening! I got to get double the dose of "baby snuggles" in this night!

Toddlers are so fun and so on the go! "A" is such a cutie and full of smiles all the way. We had a great time with bubbles and tractors.

We had such a fun time and she was just a gem to work with! I am loving these images of this very fashionable young woman! What a beauty!
